Making a 14th Century Leather Book Box

Every year, our Kingdom does a gift exchange, where we are supposed to raid our crafting stashes and make something fun for our recipient. The person I got this year is fairly new to the club, but has a real passion about all things medieval. I was really challenged by her, and figured I'd need to think outside the box. Being my usual contrary self, I did this instead... I'm attaching a how to, because Rusalka made me do it.
