Site Guidelines for Camping

Please be aware that there is a fire ban in the region this year.  Havelock has been declared an 'extreme risk', and the County of Northumberland has imposed the following restrictions:

-no open fires of any kind, including but not limited to cooking fires.

-no charcoal grills or bbqs

-No candles or other open flames.

-Propane stoves may be used for cooking, but a fire extinguisher must be kept close at hand.

-Stoves must be at least 2 feet above the ground.

-Please ensure that lit cigarettes (tobacco, cannabis, cigars etc) are extinguished via a sand or water can, including ash removal of lit cigarette.

If you â€‹observe a fire, no matter how small, please call 911 immediately.  The address of the site is 611 6th Line, Havelock.

Don't wait to find a staff member, you can let us know after you call!

  • Children 12 years old and under must be within voice and visual range of their responsible caregiver at all times.

  • Please only park in the designated areas.  No cars are permitted to stay at a campsite over night.  Please unload and park as soon as you can.  If it is too dark to find the main parking lot, please move your vehicle to the Gate parking area for collection in the morning.

  • This is a working farm.  Please do not trespass outside of designated areas, including the house, barn and any outbuildings.  If you or your little ones have questions about the farm or it's inhabitants, come to Autocrat's Point.  We're happy to chat about our furry and feathered friends.

  • There will be poop.  If it's somewhere it ought not to be, please let staff know! Unless you want to take it home for your garden, the Privy Councillor will get it sorted.  *Feel free to take it home for your garden, there's always more on the way!

  • There will be ducks, chicken and other farm friends.  They are all reasonably well socialized, but we recommend you leave them to go about their business, as they can get grumpy.  Nobody wants to see a grumpy duck. Trust me on this.

  • There is no smoking within 50 feet of any building.  Please field strip your butts and dispose of them in a can or other suitable container.  Tobacco is very harmful to livestock, so please dispose carefully.

  • Site is wet.  Please be respectful of your fellow campers.

  • Campers are requested to bring home their own trash and recycling.  If you can't, see Matilda for solutions.

  • There are no food vendors on site.  Ice, food and anything else you might need must be brought in with you.  There is a town very close by with shops if needed.

  • There is wild life in the area, including coyotes, deer, bears, wolves and barbarians.  Please keep food items & refuse in secured locations.

  • Well behaved dogs are welcome but are expected to be on leash or in a crate at all times.  All dogs must remain supervised by owners or other responsible adults at all times.

  • If your dog behaves in a manner that might be upsetting to the livestock, you will be asked to take your dog home.

  • Poop and Scoop is mandatory for the entire site, as is proper disposal.  Failure to do so may lead to eviction from site.  There is a Zero tolerance for those that do not clean up after their canine family members.

  • Porta potties will be provided throughout the campsite.  These will be serviced and stocked throughout the weekend.  Please inform event stewards or the Privy Councellor if there are any issues with them.

  • There will be water available for washing, please bring your own drinking water.

  • Guests are welcome to walk in the woods on the property, pick wildflowers, collect rocks and generally enjoy the site.

  • The outer limits of the site are denoted by fences.  We do ask that you avoid the area behind the archery range during open hours.
